Hiking And Wine
I wanted to get out of Raleigh for a quick weekend so I figured I would revisit some local favorites with a Wine and Hiking Weekend. A trip to Pilot and Stone Mt NC, with a side of Winery visits. A nice trip.
Pilot Mountian North Carolina
Pilot Mountain in Pilot Mountain State Park in North Carolina. An easy drive from Raleigh and a short hike with some great views.

Wine
And after some hiking, what better way to relax than to visit some wineries. Just some favorites this time including JOLO, Herrera, Shelton, and Raffaldini.

Stone Mountian North Carolina
The Stone Mountain Hike in North Carolina is definitely an overlooked gem. It's been a long time since I did the full loop, and it didn't disappoint. A short but very steep climb takes you to some incredible views and scrambling around the rock at the top is your reward. Descending on the other side takes to the bottom of a large waterfall, and you finish at the base of the mountain. I was lucky to spot some rock climbers just coming down and was able to get a couple of pictures from the base looking up.
